The World War II Memorial is impressive and moving. In the background of this shot is, of course, the Washington Monument.
Everywhere you look in Washington DC, you see construction barricades. In the case of the U.S. Capitol building, this is due the construction of a new underground visitor center (on the other side of the Capitol from this photo), as well as security concerns. It is difficult to get photographs in which the construction barriers do not dominate the scene.
