Mumford Cove

This past Sunday there was a terrific article about Mumford Cove (Connecticut) and Long Island Sound in the New York Times. Kirk Johnson tells the story of how Paulann Sheets led the fight to move a sewage treatment plant drain pipe from the cove to the Thames River. As a result, the cove has flourished with eelgrass, scallops, and swans replacing the sea lettuce that had been taking over the cove.
