A coach car from the Boston & Maine railroad. This particular car, located in Bedford, Massachusetts, is likely one that was used for the greater-Boston area commuter rail service, before the service was taken over by Amtrak.

isn't that 'coach' really a self propelled Budd Mfg. co. rail diesel car (RDC), of which the B&M had some 200 units, the largest fleet in the world, which did indeed replace the motley fleet of geeps and coaches, which in itself had replaced a tired group of ageing steam locomotives?
