This covered bridge crosses the Pemigewasset River in Franconia Notch State Park.
Looking back as we get closer to the summit of Mount Washington. We never made at all the way to the top; when the winds at the summit exceed 70 mph, the trains stop short of the summit. A bit down the track, you can see Jacob’s Ladder.

The steam locomotive Waumbek heads up the Mount Washington Cog Railway. This locomotive is coal-powered, and was built in 1908.
