Astronauts in training at the Johnson Space Center in Houston use this training version of the Canada Arm to learn how to operate the real thing on the space shuttle.

This new wooden roller coaster is under construction on the boardwalk in Kemah; it’s due to open this summer.

It’s meant to look like a theater, but it’s a restaurant, on the Kemah (Texas) boardwalk. Kemah is on Galveston Bay, southeast of Houston.

Downtown Brenham (Texas) has a number of interesting buildings. Most of the downtown is quite nice, but I find some of the deteriorating old buildings like this one much more interesting.

The Simon Theatre, desgined by Texas architect A.C. Finn, operated in Brenham, Texas from 1925 until sometime in the 1970s. There’s a group trying to restore the building (architect renderings), and some history here.
