This is one of the most beautiful lighthouses on the IJsselmeer. “The horse of Marken” (Paard van Marken) is located on the traditional Dutch island of Marken.
On a bicycle ride out to the lighthouse on the island of Marken, we encountered these lovely ladies. You can see the lighthouse (and a boat sailing by) in the background.

We’ve arrived in Hoorn and are settled comfortably in a slip, ready to talk a walk around town.
While you’re waiting to enter the locks at Enkhuizen you can tie up to this pier, stretch your legs, and watch the other boats approaching.
Let’s get back to the Holland sailing photos. We’ve left Medemblik and are heading downwind back towards the locks at Enkhuizen. The wind is just a few knots, less than you usually see on the IJsselmeer, but the sailing is very smooth and pleasant.
Two new megayachts, having recently been lauched and moved from the Jongert yard in Medemblik, get their rigging installed.
